is a modern tertiary care facility catering to the needs of Karachi as well as
other regions. Headed by a Professor of Surgery, the staff consists of
Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Registrars. Post
graduate trainees and residents are also an integral part of this team.
Consultant surgeons have extensive
experience in Urology, Endocrine and Gastrointestinal surgery. The dept.
handles a number of general and urological surgeries as well as referrals from
other practitioners. All kinds of Pancreatico-hepato-biliary, Renal, Urinary
Tract and Endocrine surgeries are performed regularly. A successful endoscopic
surgery unit in urology and general surgery has revolutionized gallbladder and
prostrate surgeries in the last 8 years. Advanced surgical oncology is also
done successfully on a regular basis.
Services imparted by the department are second to none in this region mainly
because of an advanced diagnostic facility onsite, superior radiology, CT
Scanning, MRI Scanning, Ultrasound Studies, Digital Substraction Angiography
and Nuclear Medicine Imaging. Hands on structured clinical training is
available here for those pursuing postgraduate as well as undergraduate
