Rules & Regulations
Baqai Medical University has established a
permanent Admission Department under the
patronage and visionary guidance of the Vice
Chancellor Prof. Zahida Baqai who is responsible
for all matters pertaining to admissions e.g.
Admission Test, Interview and Selections of
Candidates. This department provides guidance
to parents and students.
Admissions to Baqai Medical University are given
purely on Merit Basis according to the Rules and
Regulations of Baqai Medical University.
There are no reserved seats even for the Baqai
Foundation or for the relatives / children of the
members of teaching faculty.
After the completion of Admission process, the
list of selected candidates is displayed on the
notice board of the University and Baqai University
Hospital, Nazimabad.
Failure to submit the required fee till the
announced date will result in the termination of
the candidature.
ADMISSION PROCESS
DOCUMENTS SUBMISSION with APPLICATION FORM:
1. Incomplete application will not be processed.
2. IBCC Equivalence Certificate. (www.ibcc.edu.pk)
3. Valid Passport Copy.
4. Valid Visa Copy.
5. Recommendation Letter From Last Instituation Attended.
6. Results Transcripts.
7. NICOP Copy (Parents & Candidate).
9. All docs will be attested from passed institution.
10. Four recent passport size photographs.
11. Forign / Overseas student will be received recommendation letter on selection of admission.
ELIGIBILITY:
MBBS
Baqai Medical University has established a
Minimum Requirement for MBBS is 65% in H.Sc.
(Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence
Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of
Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 65%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
The PMC Council had decided that inclusion of SAT II scores will be discontinued.
BDS
Minimum Requirement for BDS is 65% in H.Sc.
(Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence

Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 65%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.)
Minimum Requirement for Doctor of Pharmacy
is 60% in H.Sc (Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence

Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 60%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
Minimum Requirement for Physiotherapy is 60%
in H.Sc (Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence
Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of
Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 60%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
B.S. Nursing
Minimum Requirement for Nursing is 55% in H.Sc
(Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence
Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of
Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 55%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
B.Sc. Medical Technology
Minimum Requirement for Medical Technology
is 55% in H.Sc. (Pre Medical Group).
O & A Level Students have to obtain Equivalence
Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of
Chairmen). Equivalency must be minimum 55%
with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
Admission to the MBBS, BDS & Pharm.D Program
Admission to the MBBS, BDS and Pharm.D
program is based on merit and potential for
leadership. This is assessed through several
criteria including scholastic achievements,
achievements in extra curricular and co-curricular
activities such as games, debates, participation
in social work, productive use of time and other
experiences indicating potential for leader ship.
These criteria cumulatively form the sole basis
for admission.
Fulfillment of basic eligibility requirements or a
high score in the written test administered by the
university or a high academic score in any single
discipline or any other outstanding achievement
alone is not sufficient for selection.
Experience over the years has shown that
competition for admission is intense. Applicants
and their parents or supporters who believe their
candidature to be strong enough to warrant
selection are advised that the outcome of the
selection procedure cannot be anticipated at any
stage.
In view of the intensity of competition for
admission, all applicants are advised in their own
interest to apply to other institutes as well.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate
competence in English comprehension and
expression, both written and verbal, as the
medium of instructions and teaching is English.
Requirements of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) & Pakistan Pharmacy Concil (PPC). The PMDC & PPC requirement for admission must be met by all applicants. Candidates from systems of education other than the Pakistan, will be required to submit an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board committee of chairmen (IBCC) in Pakistan. The qualification must be equivalent to the Pre-medical qualification in Pakistan with atleast 60% marks.
Applications for admission are accepted for all faculty/courses offered by BMU. These will be accepted by the date announced every year. Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.

NOTE:
The candidates applying from Pakistan or overseas download the Form from website: www.baqai.edu.pk and pay fees through bank draft or pay order in the favour of “Baqai Medical University”.
It remains the responsibility of the applicant to complete the application requirements according to the instructions and time schedule. No reminders are sent by the Admission office. Once acknowledged, an application will not be returned.
For provisional applicants, (whose H.Sc. results are awaited) the short listing, interviews and marking by the Admission Committee will take place on a provisional basis.
(It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that pending results are received in the admission office according to the published schedule).
